Can a mover transport pets to a new apartment?

No. Most moving companies do not move pets due to the long duration of a move. It is the responsibility of the owner to see that a pet is safely transported to your new apartment. Should my moving company be licensed?

Yes, A licensed mover is insured and bonded. This means that during a move if your belongings are damaged, a mover’s insurance will cover the costs to either replace or repair the item(s). Beware of local movers who are not insured. Always asked a moving company whether they are insured and if they have references.

What is the best way to prepare a PC for safe transport?

Pack the monitor in a medium box with paper. The tower and the wires should be packed separately in a smaller box, keeping wires and cords together.

Am I allowed to pack my own belongings and do you have a handy checklist to make my move easier?

How do I get mail forwarded to my new address?

You can obtain a change of address form from your local post office and submit it either in-person or by mail. A change of address can also be done on-line at: www.usps.com/moversguide/

How do I transfer my utilities?

Contact your energy supplier to schedule a final meter reading and have service terminated. For all other utilities, contact your provider to discontinue usage, and/or make appointments to have new services installed at your new residence.

How do I move my plants into my new apartment?

Movers will transport most plants, however be aware that they will not be watered and will be subject to no sunlight and variable temperatures. For out of town and interstate transport, moving companies will require plants to be inspected by a florist to certify the plant does not carry any diseases or insects. To insure your plant’s safety it is best to transport them yourself.
